Meet Dr. Sharifi

Azalea Sharifi, D.M.D Ph.D

Dr. Azalea Sharifi has been practicing dentistry for over 30 years and has provided compassionate dental care in the Collegeville, PA area for the past 20 years. She is the founder and owner of Evansburg Family Dentistry since 2015. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Dental School and was faculty in their Restorative Department from 2004-2008.

Supported by an outstanding educational background, Dr.Sharifi pursued a formal education at the Westfalian University in Muenster, Germany, where she earned a Doctor of Dental Science in 1995. Soon thereafter, she obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Psychosomatic Disorders in Dentistry from the University of Muenster, Germany in 1997 and a Master of Science in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in 2001. Dr. Sharifi concluded her studies with a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (D.M.D.) from the University of Pennsylvania in 2004.

Dr. Sharifi worked as a clinical consultant and instructor for patients with dentofacial anomalies and clefts at the Department of Maxillo-Facial surgery at the University of Muenster Dental School in Muenster, Germany from 1998-2001. She began her career as an Orthodontics fellow with the Department of Orthodontics in Muenster and the Orthodontic Clinic in Osnabrueck, Germany between 1996-1998. Dr. Sharifi has been Invisalign certified in 2002 and 2004.

Dr. Sharifi co-founded the Greater Philadelphia Dynamic Dental Divas in 2018, an organization dedicated to professional women in Dentistry. An expert and respected voice in dentistry, she has served as a translator for dental articles in international journals. Dr. Sharifi has maintained her professional affiliation with the American Dental Association, the International Association for Health care Professionals, the Montgomery-Bucks Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association and the German Orthodontic Association.

Dr. Sharifi is married and has one son. In her free time she enjoys traveling with her family and painting.
